DESCRIPTION:There’s so much more to plant\, discover and share than what you’ll find available at nurseries!\n \nSeed saving\, seed raising and propagating plants are simple cost saving techniques that allow you to grow bountiful future seasonal crops in your own garden. \nJoin us for this half-day\, hands-on\, workshop and learn skills that will help you grow healthy crops\, save money and share your bounty with others. \nCome along to learn: \n\nTechniques for collection\, saving and storing seeds from a range of plant types and families\nTips for sowing seeds to achieve optimum germination\nMethods for propagating different types of plants using cuttings\n\nIncluded: \n\nLots of chances for hands-on learning to help you build skills and confidence\nA range of seeds and seed trays\, including silverbeet\, cucumber\, eggplant\, basil and tomatoes\nPropagated cuttings from salvias\, peppermint geranium\, pineapple sage and Warrigal greens\nExtensive workshop notes to take home\nMorning tea\n\nBefore you book\, please consider: \n\nThe site is a working farm and visitors must participate in a safety briefing at the beginning of the workshop.\nThe terrain at the farm is particularly steep and slippery in parts. Though the workshop will take place primarily within our accessible education space\, there is a possibility that participants will be required to walk across uneven or sloping ground. If you have mobility restrictions or any concerns about your ability to navigate the terrain\, please contact us before booking.\nPlants love rain and so do we! We don’t cancel workshops in wet weather unless there is a dangerous storm. Please come prepared for the weather.\nAllergen advice: Our farm is home to domestic animals as well as bees\, wasps\, and macadamia trees. Please pack an EpiPen if allergic and keep it with you while on site.\n\nAll workshop participants must: \n\nWear enclosed shoes or boots (no thongs or sandals) and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
