Stir it up! supports people to promote healthy eating and good food in their local community.
Trained peer educators volunteer their time to run healthy activities such as talks cooking demonstrations and classes & supermarket tours at a variety of community settings
This is a Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District & Healthy Cities Illawarra program.
Volunteer opportunities
Volunteers receive training with a focus on healthy eating, practical food ideas, presentation skills, kitchen safety and food hygiene. On completion the volunteers receive a nationally recognised qualification and are supported to deliver healthy eating activities in their community. These activities may include presentations at community gardens, talks, displays, cooking demonstrations, supermarket tours or facilitating cooking classes.
