back to Minimising waste

Waste conscious shopping

Reducing waste begins at home. We’ve all accidentally doubled up, forgetting to make a list or overlooking what’s already in the fridge or cupboards. Check what you have, think about what you need, make a list and stick to it. Don’t go shopping when you’re hungry as you’ll be more likely to impulse buy or purchase excessive quantities. Once you’re at the grocer, simple things like choosing single bananas, “wonky veg”, or reduced-price items can help minimise waste as these are usually less desirable and the first to be discarded.
