Would you like to make a lasting impact on food justice and community wellbeing? We are hiring a Project Manager (Regional Food Hub) at Healthy Cities Australia.

About Us

We’re a not-for-profit organisation and part of the WHO Healthy Cities movement, working to create healthier, more equitable communities. Through our initiative Food Fairness Illawarra, we’re building a fairer food system—one that rescues surplus food, supports local growers, and ensures everyone has access to nutritious meals.

About the role

You’ll lead the planning, development, and stakeholder engagement for a new Regional Food Hub, that focuses on food rescue, relief, and local supply chain integration with a future vision of a commercial kitchen producing healthy school lunches. Your work will include:

  • Developing a business case and feasibility studies
  • Scoping funding and investment
  • Coordinating infrastructure and logistics planning
  • Building partnerships across government, community, and industry
  • Mapping local food supply chains and workforce needs

You’ll bring

  • Proven experience managing complex projects in food systems, transport & logistics, contract negotiation etc
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, funding proposals, and strategic planning
  • A proactive, values-driven approach with a passion for equity and sustainability
