Connect with community and share delicious local food!

WHO?
Anyone interested in the local food system in the Illawarra is welcome to come along! Connect with other local growers, producers, advocates, culture guides, picklers, bakers, retailers, chefs and home cooks who share a passion for delicious, fair food in the Illawarra.

Kids welcome, though as it is a picnic its best not to bring your furry friends.

This event is free, though please RSVP so we have an idea of numbers. And please spread the word 🙂

WHAT TO BRING?
Bring a plate of locally sourced food to share—it may be from your garden, your neighbour’s garden, a local producer, or foraged. The idea is for the key components of your dish to be sourced locally. For a comprehensive list of local suppliers go to the Food Fairness Illawarra website. Be ready to share the story of the food you have brought!

Also bring a chair or picnic rug, crockery and cutlery for your group.

We have a small amount of funding from Wollongong City Council (thank you!) which will be used to purchase some delicious bread from Millers’ Local Bakehouse, fresh produce from Popes Produces, condiments from South Coast Kimchi Co and ethically sourced meat from Cleaver & Co Quality Meats. This will help complement the food that everyone brings 🙂

WHERE?
Sandon Point parkland, Bulli—the area south of the carpark under the large Norfolk Island Pine trees overlooking Sandon Point Beach. We’ll have a couple of marquees and trestle tables set up.

WHEN?
Sunday 14th January, 3pm – 7pm.
