Mushrooms Foraging Workshop
5 April 2022 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Penrose State Forest
NSW Australia
$120
Join Mushrooms Foraging Workshop on a day outing in the State Forest. Follow the footsteps of the Italian and Polish families, wildcrafters and gourmet food enthusiasts, for a fantastic seasonal treat> pine mushrooms!
This event is offered on a Tuesday, for the people who cannot do weekends and for all the other who can see value of being in the forest when there are less people about: magic!
Join professional forager Diego Bonetto as he takes you and your family on a forest walk, uncovering the details of where to look, when to move and how to harvest edible mushrooms.
This is a hands-on activity and we hope to find mushrooms for all, but it all depends on how good you are at spotting them on the forest floor. Part treasure hunt, part ecological awakening, this experience is like no other. The activity has been treasured for generations by the Eastern European and Mediterranean cultures in Australia, making it a seasonal must-do to share stories, learn recipes and enjoy amazingly fresh wild mushrooms cooked on the spot. And that’s what we will do. We will find mushrooms, share stories and recipes and taste some freshly cooked mushrooms on the spot!
Please be aware that we will be driving on unsealed roads at times. The forest tracks are suitable for city cars but not ideal for low-riding sport cars
Adults: $120
Underemployed/Concession/Child: $95
Children 5 and under: Free
Please get in contact if you cannot afford these prices as we have a sponsorship program.
