Buying at the farm gate

One of most direct ways to support local producers is by purchasing straight from their farm gate. Some have an “honesty jar” system in place to promote a sovereign environment, while others open their gates to the public on a daily or weekly basis. Buying at farm gate is often also available on farm tours, providing participants with an insight into the different farming practices utilised in their local community and giving customers the chance to see their local food system at work.
