Eating Well with Kids

Healthy eating is essential for a child’s growth and development. Developing healthy eating as a family will have a big impact on your child’s health in the long term

The Australian Dietary Guidelines recommend children should eat a while variety of foods that include:

  • Fruit
  • Vegetables, legumes & beans
  • Wholegrain cereals (breads, rice, pasta & noodles)
  • Lean meat, fish, poultry and/or alternatives
  • Dairy and/or alternatives

Saturated fat, added salt and added sugar intake should all be limited and the main choice of beverage should be water.
