We each have a role to play when it comes to our food: the food we choose and the way we consume it affect our health and that of our planet. From local food businesses to government, farmers, food waste fighters, academia and consumers of all ages.
As a community, we need to come together to transform our food system!
Since 2016, we have come together to celebrate Fair Food Week and World Food Day at our annual Connecting over Fair Food event. While we have had to postpone this amazing community building event from October to 18th February 2022, we are inviting each and every one of you to virtually share with us your connection to fair food!

About Fair Food Week
Fair Food Week was established as a way for individuals and food organisations across Australia to come together to explore, celebrate and show how they engage in fair food. At Food Fairness Illawarra, we will be celebrating Fair Food by calling on our local community to share their connection to fair food.
About World Food Day
World Food Day was established by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations to recognise that as a global community, we each have a role to play in the transformation of agri-food systems. This includes everyone from governments to private companies, farmers, civil society, academia and all individuals! World Food Day is celebrated across 150 different countries making it one of the most celebrated days of the UN calendar. We will be joining this movement by promoting awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and fod the need to ensure healthy diets for all.
